Ditton Minors 1 - 6 Maidstone United Rangers

A good performance in miserable conditions saw Rangers through to the next round of the Consolation Cup, with a comfortable 6 - 1 victory. Maidstone started brightly with Samuel Hubbard hitting the post early on after being slipped through the defence by an inch perfect ball from George Wood. Top scorer Aseem Rana soon opened his account for the day scoring from a corner sent over by his strike partner Lewis Gibbons.

Another corner saw another goal again, Lewis sent over another great cross finding Adam Spikin's head, who had just been sent on from substitute by the manager, what a decision! Some more good passing and moving saw Lewis and Sam makde another chance for Aseem but it was Lewis that extended the lead to 3 - 0 with a fine finish. Ditton then broke well and scored a good goal making the score 3 - 1 at half time.

The second half was hard fought with a few chances going to either side, Aseem's the pick of the bunch, trying an overhead kick with the ball bouncing around the Ditton area. Maidstone seemed to invite pressure on their goal but still it was Maidstone making the better chances this time George sending a shot just over.

Aseem finally got the first goal of the second half following in and finishing another George shot. Lewis then made another for Aseem to complete his hat-trick and then Aseem completed the scoring with his fourth of the game.

This was also a fine defensive display with ever present Mark Brown, Jordan Lean and especially Dan Elliot having solid games for Maidstone, keeper Nick Henson pulled off some good saves especially important when the score was 3 - 1
