The Maidstone Utd - Raiders and how we began

Maidstone Utd - Raiders Pan Disability football section was formed in April 2004 and we started training out of Bower Grove Special Needs School.
Bower Grove School was instrumental in the development of the Raiders to the point were they allowed our coaches to work with the children in after school clubs to gain experience in this very special field of football and the success of that is today we have three of our coaches who are full time staff at Bower Grove.

In September 2006 the Bower Grove School went into a re-construction program to which meant the Raiders had to move training locations and from 2006 until now we are based out of Astor of Hever Sports College.
In 2004 the Raiders started with around 12 player's age between 7 and 14 yrs and today we have 60 players split into three sections Junior, Youth and Adult.
We also have School Club links with Five Acre Wood Special needs school to which we run out of School football session on a Friday night

We offer football for all impairments and toady we are a Kent's only Deaf Friendly Club

Maidstone Utd -Raiders became members of the newly formed Kent Disability Junior league in 2005. We play against Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Fulham, Oxford, Gillingham and many more. The league is run over four meetings where all the Kent teams will congregate on a Central venue location and play each other.
.

Our mission is to create Safe environment which will develop a social inclusion to all players and to make sure that all players have a great footballing experience and to feel part of a major Community Football Club
